ISSUE
I had to uninstall and
reinstall the SCCM client on a server and it will not register with the
management point. The ClientIDManagerStartup.log just has this error over and
over:
GetRegistrationState failed
(0x80071771)
RegTask: Failed to get registration state. Error: 0x80071771
RegTask: Failed to get registration state. Error: 0x80071771
I can't find anything on the
Internet about error 0x80071771 except that it means a file could not be
decrypted.
The MP_RegistrationManager.log
and the MP_CliReg logs on the site server show no errors at all.
Resolution
Please try Below Step.
1-Uninstall/reinstall the sccm
client
2-Stop the SMS Agent Host
service
3-Delete any devices in the
SCCM console that have the same name as the offending machine
4-On the computer that won't
register, delete C:\Windows\SMSCFG.INI
5-Start the SMS Agent Host
service
6- Excluding Antivirus
SMSCFG.INI file and SMS Agent Host Service
